Liz in Conversation with award winning composer and renowned Shetland fiddle player Jenna Reid on Tuesday 17th Jan at 8pm on TWAL – Travels With My Auntie Liz on Celtic Music Radio about her forthcoming duo album ‘One Day’ along with fellow Shetland fiddle player , Harris Playfair.   The album launch is on the 25th Jan in The Recital Rooms of The City Halls at Celtic Connections 2023
‘One of Shetland’s finest and most accomplished modern-day fiddlers, Jenna Reid releases her sixth album.

Alongside her long standing musical partner, Harris Playfair, sparks fly when these two masterful players connect, now brilliantly showcased on their long-awaited duo record One Day.

One Day captures the unparalleled musical relationship between two of Scotland’s most virtuosic traditional musicians.

Reid’s sixth album, it follows 2019’s acclaimed Working Hands – composed by Jenna and recorded in collaboration with Mr McFall’s Chamber, alongside Playfair – and the masterful Live in Shetland (2015)’.

Musicians on the album also include on the track ‘Findhorn Bay’ – Seonaid Aitken / Kirstan Harvey. / Bethany Thomson / Hames Douglas / Su-a Lee

Other than her own Band, Jenna has played in bands and collaborations such as  Filsk (with her sister Bethany and mother Joyce + Gemma Wilson). With Docas -Julie Fowlis / Kathleen Boyle / Martin O’Neill / Eilidh Macleod – Receiving a Danny in  2000. With Blazin’ Fiddles. RANT. Deaf Shepheard.  Fiddlers Bid .
