In Conversation with Kris Drever 11th April 2026

Join me aka Auntie Liz on Saturday 11th April 2026 at 12pm  when Iwill be in conversation with Kris Dreaver about his new album Doing The For Love – released on 10th April 2026.
Kris writes  ‘I had lost all confidence around August and confessed as much to my long time friend and collaborator Euan Burton during a catch up in a Glasgow café (it was too early for the pub). He convinced me to just book the next available few days in GloWorm studios and start recording. As soon as we started tracking, the doubts disappeared, it all made sense.
Just do the work, be present, be kind to yourself. Everyone who helped make these versions of these songs did it with generosity and clarity.
The music community in Glasgow is truly magnificent, so much comradeship, such responsible use of so much outrageous ability, a dream place to be working.
It’s the first time I’ve made a studio album in the same city as my little family are living in, and the daily commute made it feel abundantly clear who and what I was doing this for. There’s so much helplessness around us right now, it’s good to remember that every day we perform little acts of devotion so thoughtlessly we don’t even recognise them for what they are.
This 6th solo album of Kris’ was made with love for anyone who labours for love.’
Kirs moved from Orkney to Edinburgh when he was 17 merging into I’s music scene, around 2000 he joined with Nuala Kennedy and Anna-Wendy Stevenson, and formed the trio Fine Friday – touring throughout the UK and Europe releasing 2 albums. Kris a much sought after artist, has had many collaborations over the years, as well as forming Lau along with Aidan O’Rourke and Martin Green, to date having 9 releases in studio albums, EP’s and live albums.
