Elia Davidson is a 21-year-old singer/songwriter from Dumfries, South-West Scotland. Elia first began performing at the age of 13, developing her talent around the Dumfries & Galloway music scene. Her delicate, tender songwriting quickly led to success in local and national music competitions, most notably winner of the Amnesty International Youth Awards Songwriting Competition in London.
Following the release of her self-titled debut EP in 2016, Elia took to the stage at venues and festivals throughout Scotland, including touring with the Creative Scotland funded Hit the Road project.
Now living and studying in Edinburgh, Elia has spent time further developing her songwriting to create a follow up EP that showcases reflective and honest lyrics against a delicate, intimate sound.
Recorded and produced with Dave Miller at Circa 16 Sound Recording, Hit and Run received airplay from the likes of BBC Radio Scotland and Amazing Radio.

Sometimes a duo, other-times a band of gypsies “The Poachers” songbook is like a daisy chain made up from fundamentals in storytelling through song-writing.

Chloe Matharu Thurs 27th Jan 2022
Chloe Matharu is a singer songwriter and Celtic Harpist in Wemyss Bay, Inverclyde. Many of her songs draw on her experience as a Navigational Officer in the Merchant Navy sailing around the world on oil tankers. Her thoughtful and sensitive songwriting offers an insight into the modern seafarer’s life. Chloe’s voice, coupled with her harp playing, form a haunting combination perfectly suited to the reflective nature of her material.
Chloe Matharu’s talent affords a refreshing outlook onto this new tradition of maritime folk music. Her lyrics and melodies will resonate with you long after her performance. Of Scottish, Welsh and Punjabi heritage Chloe sings in both English and
Welsh. With sell out shows in the Edinburgh Fringe, and in 2021 she has enjoyed playing an exciting line up including venues such as Glad Café Glasgow, Greenote in London, Beacon Arts Centre Inverclyde, McIntosh Club, Helensburgh and Cwtch Café Pembrokeshire to name a few. She also frequently performs corporate events and played a series of gigs for COP26 to high profile clientele within Glasgow.
She releases her new album, Small Voyages, in September 2022 with following tour visiting Glasgow, Edinburgh, London, Oxford and Bristol. This album will feature original songs by Chloe written about her experience at sea and will also include field recordings of the natural environment. Eva Väljaots (EST) and Robbie Sherratt (ENG) write and perform music rooted in Estonian and English folklore. Their music, both modern and tradition-sensitive, combines the kannel, fiddle, and vocals in a colourful, rich and enchanting way. Sharing an affinity for improvisation and spontaneity, the duo’s communication and companionship captivates the ears eager to float and the toes yearning to dance.
They perform regularly in England, Estonia and Finland for both concerts and dancing. In 2019 they were semi-finalists in Kaustinen Folk Music Festival’s Konsta Jylhä competition and in 2020 won the Grand Prize of the Mooste Elohelü Folk Music Competition in Estonia.

Isla Ratcliff is a Scottish fiddle player, singer and composer from Edinburgh, with a background in classical violin and piano. Her debut album The Castalia, described as ‘a refreshingly lively new take on trad’, features traditional and self-composed tunes inspired by the 4 months that she spent in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia in 2019, including a trip to New Brunswick to meet her distant relatives. Her album expresses her love for the tradition, its ethos of community, and the power of music to bring people together.
Isla was a Semi-Finalist in the BBC Young Traditional Musician of the Year 2022 competition. She has performed at Celtic Connections, Cambridge Folk Festival, Sidmouth FolkWeek, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and the BBC Proms. After studying classical violin and piano through the Suzuki Method and then at the City of Edinburgh Music School, she graduated with a BA Music degree from Oxford University in 2017 and then with an MMus Scottish Music degree from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in 2020. Aged 13, she played a trad duet with Nicola Benedetti in Edinburgh’s Usher Hall.
