BEATHA
Beatha are appearing at Celtic Connections on 1st Feb 2025 in The National Piping Centre
along with the Alistair McCulloch Trio. – Link
Based in Glasgow, Beatha brings together three talented musicians who met while studying Traditional Music at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. The band features Kenneth Macfarlane on whistle, Iona Reid on piano, and Cam Lawson on bodhran. They’ve performed across the UK at prestigious events including Celtic Connections,. Their festival appearances include Braemar Folk Festival and Birmingham TradFest. The group recently made their international debut in Chédigny, France. They will be launching their EP at the gig. They are also taking part in Battle of the Band at 1pm on the 18th Jan as well. Link
ELEANOR DUNSDON & GREGOR BLACK
Eleanor Dunsdon & Gregor Black are a multi-award-winning Glasgow-based harp and percussion duo blending traditional music with jazz, folk, classical, and electronic influences. Graduates of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, they push musical boundaries with innovative arrangements and fresh compositions. Winners of the Danny Kyle Award and Purbeck Rising 2024, they have performed at events such as Celtic Connections, Love Folk Festival and the Edinburgh International Harp Festival, selling out venues on their Ireland tour. Taking inspiration from parts of Ireland’s disappearing language, the duo explore humanity’s fascination with the ever-changing temperament of the sea through their music. Having performed across the UK and Ireland, their debut EP, ‘Let No Man’,being awarded Fetea Magazines EP of the years 2024.has been championed on BBC Radio 3, RTÉ Radio 1 and BBC Radio Ulster. Recognised as UKHA Emerging Artists, the duo is redefining the role of the harp in contemporary music.

EVE DAVIDSON
Eve Davidson is a 22-year-old singer-songwriter from Fife. Eve is inspired by such genres as folk and grunge, as well as her personal experiences. Her recent releases, the singles ‘Imposter’ and ‘Monster In Me’, were well received by radio and reviewers. Early 2024 saw Eve as one of the winners of the Danny Kyle Award at Celtic Connections. Eve has supported artists such as Kirsten Adamson, James Grant, Constant Follower, Iona Fyfe, and Talisk, and has appeared at King Tut’s New Year’s Revolution Festival, the Record Store stage at the Country to Country Festival at the OVO Hydro, Butefest, Germany’s iRock Festival among others. 2025 will see an exciting new EP from Eve and the addition of a live band.

CaN Dubh – Ciorstaidh Chaimbeul and Noah Scott
The duo met on the Isle of Skye where they are both part of the session scene. Their music takes the unique sound of the clarinet and accordion and combines it with a love of traditional music and song.
Ciorstaidh’s music is largely influenced by her Gaelic roots as well as extensive classical training. Ciorstaidh is a graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland where she studied with distinguished accordionist, Djordje Gajic. In 2021, Ciorstaidh went on exchange studies to Royal Danish Academy of Music where she studied with Geir Draugsvoll and Bjarke Mogensen. In 2019, she was a semi-finalist in the 2019 BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional musician of the year, and NAAFC overall senior accordion winner. She regularly performs as a chamber musician, playing at Hidden Doors with Trio RCS and at RCS Plug Festival with six accordions.
Noah is a multi-instrumentalist and composer studying Scottish Traditional music at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Noah was awarded Grade 8 Clarinet with Distinction in 2018 but since then, he has focused on developing his own style, steeped in Scottish tradition by using techniques borrowed from wind instruments more common in Scottish Tradition such as the pipes, whistle and flute, and developing his own ornamentation. Noah also loves composing and arranging and was commissioned to write a piece for the National Youth Pipe Band.

JOHN RUSH
Glasgow based singer/songwriter (originally from Paisley). With his, “folk tinged pop songs”
Was awarded a Danny in 2021, and due to the pandemic he was denied a live showcase in 2022. John has played some of Glasgow’s greatest venues such as the Barrowland Ballroom (four times), King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut, O2 Academy, O2 ABC, Royal Concert Hall and Saint Luke’s & The Winged Ox as well as many more venues around Scotland and festivals in Scotland and England. And is gearing up for yet another busy year
He release his album much anticipated ‘Some Time On New Street’ to critical acclaim in 2024 being chosen as Album of The Week on Celtic Music Radio . He has had a busy few years!
Through the years he has racked up some highly acclaimed support slots with Paul Weller, Ocean Colour Scene, Chris Helme (The Seahorses), Steve Pilgrim (Paul Weller’s drummer) and Johnny Lloyd (Tribes). John took a selection of songs across the pond to New York City in late September 2018 where he showcased his new music in a quick mini NYC tour consisting of four gigs in five nights including a secret rooftop Sofar Sounds show.
This new music would go on to become his debut album Beneath The Apple Tree which was released in November 2019 with a sell-out album launch gig in Room 2, Glasgow after John had joined the 23 Music Management family. The pandemic was obviously a difficult time for music but John played two of the pioneering Immersive TV gigs in Room 2 in early 2021 which were broadcast to an international audience and continued to play many online gigs to keep his fans entertained on lockdown.
