DKOS Artists Saturday 24th January 2026 :- Hannah Ferriday from Derbyshire. – Cailean Jennett hailing from Oban. – Emer O’Flaherty from County Clare. – Falls from New York via Australia – Aukserry from Orkney……

HANNAH FERRIDAY is a Singer/songwriter and a teacher from Derbyshire.
Is a self taught guitarist who enjoyed a spell on the Manchester open mic circuit when she moved there in 2015.
In 2017 she started attending regular traditional sessions and learnt to play the Irish whistle.
Drawing inspiration from my love of traditional Irish/ Scottish music and artists such as Karine Polwart, she tries to create thoughtful melancholy stories and sounds through infused writing and singing style.
Recently, her song “Riach” was played on Celtic Music Radio.
She also played a short set on the free stage at this years Derby Folk festival.
Also recorded EP entitled “Odd” in 2018 and her next (long overdue) project is to be an EP with songs inspired by the Orcadian landscape and its people
CAILIEAN JENNETT
A fluent Gaelic speaker who has grown up through Feisan and MOD competitions, Cailean has developed (or evolved) a distinctive singing and songwriting style in both Gaelic and English. With mentorship and tuition from the likes of Mary Anne Kennedy, Mischa MacPherson, Mary-Catherine MacLean and Sileas Sinclair – he has gone on to record and release three singles. Ten thousand plus streams later and after several radio plays – Cailean’s been pleased to see his songs appear on various lists of scottish/gaelic “bangers” alongside well-known names Mànran, Sian and Julie Fowlis. He’s also made a number of on-line and in-person appearances including opening for Kim Carnie as part of her 2025 Tour.
EMER O’FLAHERTY
Described by Irish Music magazine as ‘music to dwell on, drink deeply from… Emer O’Flaherty is a major new Irish songwriting talent’.
A native of County Clare in Ireland, Emer is a bilingual (Gaeilge/English) singer, songwriter, composer and musician (piano, flute, concertina and whistles). She has performed across Europe with solo shows at Edinburgh and Prague Fringe Festivals. Her song ‘Taibhse’ won the International Pan Celtic Award for newly composed songs. April of 2025 saw the release of her début album ‘Go dtí seo’ celebrating her songwriting trí Ghaeilge, a fusion of folk and traditional music with elements of jazz. Amongst her most recent performances are Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann and Electric Picnic in Ireland. She has also written over sixty pieces for piano, her music featured in radio documentary and touring theatre productions.
FALLS
Every Wednesday night, for almost two years, Australian singer songwriter Falls (Melinda Kirwin) played at a little hotel in Sydney called The Hollywood. It’s where she cut her teeth, found her sound and wrote the songs that would become her debut EP. Fast forward to 2025 where she found herself in Hollywood California, recording songs for her sophomore album “Bodega Rose” (due out in 2026) with grammy winning producer Joe Chiccarelli at the iconic Sunset Sound Recording Studio.
Largely shaped by her love of Americana Music, these new songs elegantly capture the thrill and the fallout of following through on a dream. Illustrating life on the road and the feeling one gets when you don’t know where home is anymore.
Onstage, it’s clear Falls wears her heart on her sleeve, with her intimate yet catchy Indie Folk/Americana melodies, sweet vocal harmonies, and emotionally fueled performances drawing rave reviews.
Having toured with The Lumineers, Passenger, Iron & Wine and Ron Sexsmith amongst others, Falls is fast developing an impressive live resume which includes performances at Bonnaroo, Austin City Limits and AmericanaFest.
Featured in Billboard Magazine’s “Tomorrow’s Hits”, Falls is quietly making a name for herself in 2026.
“With her sweet harmonies and hooky choruses, falls is already drawing airplay at adult alternative radio” – Gary Trust (Billboard)
AUKSERRY
We are a young folk band from Orkney that likes to fuse our Orcadian style with others. The band consists of Magnus Montgomery on guitar and vocals, Tom Montgomery on bass, Jamie Sutherland on percussion, Ingrid Tait on fiddle and Lily Montgomery on cello, fiddle and vocals. Forming back in the summer of 2023, we started off by busking; although we have grown up playing with each other in a school band called Hadhirgaan. Since forming we have had many opportunities for gigs and concerts such as playing at local festivals, supporting Blazin Fiddles, The Chair, Saltfishforty, Louise Bichan, Jennifer Austin and Erik Linklater as well as others. We love making music together and hope to grow as a band.
Please remember the DKOS hosted at Celtic Connections is held in the Exhibition Hall at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall is still free but is now ticketed>
