ZOE ELIZA
Zoe Eliza has been captivating audiences across Britain with her mournful yet gritty narratives and haunting voice. Having grown up in Bury, Lancashire, she has taken inspiration from her own experiences of life in Northern England and its intriguing history. Combining this with her own fascination of the folklore and tales of our land, she weaves rich, vivid and beautiful tales.
BALDERDASH & THE THING
John and Mark are two pals who started busking together in the parks of Glasgow 18 months ago and spontaneously wrote a series of songs that grabbed the publics imagination and drew a lot of smiles!
We are now quite determined to start gigging indoors and would love the chance to have a dash in front of a captive audience,
BEACH CROWS
Beach Crows are an emerging band based in Lothian & Borders. They formed in 2020 when the core members Al Nicholas and Tom Anderson developed their songwriting collaboration into a band that now features Nick Townsend on Bass and Ali McLeod on drums.
Whether mellow, groovy or straight up stomping, their music is rooted in the interplay of guitar parts, a genuine feel for melody and well-crafted lyrics. Influences thread through folk rock, blues and jazz with an occasional burst of funk.
They are planning a tour of smaller local venues and festivals across Scotland, both as a band and a duo and have played pubs, clubs and festivals across Lothian & Borders. They launched their first EP at a sell-out performance during the Biggar Little Festival in 2023.
ALI STOTT & CHUN-WEI KANG
Ali Stott is a singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from just outside Glasgow who grew up playing classical, rock, metal and blues, before gravitating towards a more acoustic and folk orientated style of music which incorporates many of his previous influences.
Bridging the gap between Nick Drake and Jeff Buckley, or John Martyn and Radiohead, Ali Stott combines soft, folky storytelling with complex harmony and extended vocalisation.
He released his debut EP in March of 2024, the title track of which was played on Roddy Hart’s BBC radio show, and spent the rest of the year writing, collaborating and gigging – opening for acts such as Chris Helme (The Seahorses) and Daniel Rooney, in venues including King Tuts, The Hug and Pint, and the Tolbooth in Stirling. His next EP is due to be released in January 2025.
Chun-Wei Kang is an award nominated jazz drummer and multi-instrumentalist.
LIAM DOCHERTY
About Me: I’m an official partner of Taylor Guitars and I have been playing publicly since the age of 7. I have performed at multiple music festivals including the Vancouver Folk Music Festival AGM and Vancouver Island Music Fest. I played my first music festival at 12 years of age. As a dual UK/Canadian citizen I now permanently reside in Scotland.
My debut album Modern. Magic. Melody. sold records internationally and received TV, radio, and print media time from CBC, Globe & Mail, Vancouver Sun, Time Colonist, and Chek TV. It also yielded a nomination for New Act of The Year at the Maple Blues Awards. At 13 years of age, I became the youngest person in the history of the awards to be nominated. I was also voted as winner of Best Original Song at the UK FAB Awards. My second album Gemini Rising was released in June 2023.
My own music weaves together elements of folk, blues, and Celtic traditions. Inspired by artists such as Robert Johnson, Nick Drake, Chet Atkins, Merle Travis, Tommy Emmanuel and Tony McManus, I love performing original pieces and classics from the blues and folk canon fusing together storytelling, melody, and intricate guitar work. I also enjoy engaging with audiences by sharing stories of the artists and influences behind my music, whether it’s folk ballads, Mississippi Delta Blues, or my own original material.
