Her impressive vocals and passion for songwriting have earned her the opportuning to grace the stages of many iconic venues including Hard Rock Café, The Classic Grand, King Tuts Wah Wah Hut and the Barrowland Ballroom. Hainley & The Baird Sun 24th Jan 2022
Hanley and the Baird, an Edinburgh based band burst into the Scottish and UK Download charts in April 2020 with their first single, Follow the Rainbows and have been keeping their fanbase engaged, performing live on Facebook almost 100 times during lockdown. Their most recent single Looking at you, looking at me was inspired by their journey as musicians throughout the years and earning the right to play on the stages they perform on with their band today.
Annette (Hanley) and Kirsty (Baird) are grateful to The Festival Theatre and the Alhambra,
both stages that Hanley and the Baird have performed on, as they allowed them access to film scenes for the video for this release. The new single initially written back in 2012, feels even more important due to the current situation with the Covid 19 pandemic, so many of these stages and theatres, musicians, artists, actors, backstage crew etc trying to get to work.
Kirsty (The Baird) said “We wrote the single together about earning our own right to play and perform on these stages. We have never taken anything for granted and have worked hard to earn the right and continue to do so and it was very important for us that some of our music video was filmed inside the theatres at during the lockdown. It was sad to see these theatres lying empty”
Hanley and the Baird have performed at the Festival Theatre, Queens Hall, Usher Hall and the Alhambra with Sing in the City. Their set sets are full of energy and humour and their music is a mixture of pop, rock and country. Annette Hanley guitar/vocals, Kirsty Baird guitar/vocals/keyboard Kerry Thomson drums and George Glen bass.
“Great musicians, great music, great songs, great live, just bloody great”
