Formed at the end of 2023, Midnight Painters is comprised of Aoibhinn Sweeney from Omagh, Ireland and Anthony Madden from Glasgow, Scotland. They quickly became known for their unique approach to songwriting and their ability to create a rich, layered sound despite their minimalistic setup. Whether playing stripped-down indie-folk or upbeat tunes, their harmonies—perfectly intertwined—transport listeners to a place where every note feels personal and the lyrics resonate deeply. Their debut EP is set to release in Summer 2025.

ABRIL

Abril is tradition renewed; sounds from the past in harmony with the present. A place where identities meet and create community in a “foliada” (traditional Galician folk sessions).
Abril is a duo formed by Claudia Abril (vocals and percussion) and Marina Carpente (violin and vocals) that draws inspiration from traditional Galician music to offer a modern, delicate, and intimate proposal to share with the community.
The group formed in 2022 to play and compose traditional music, and they recorded their first single ‘Xota de Parada de Achas’. That same year they received the ‘Interritmos’ prize, which meant they could record ‘FRADES’ with recording studio Estudios Mans. In the summer they participated in various festivals like the ‘Festival da Luz’, ‘Feito a Man’, ‘Son do Pazo’, ‘Rubrifolkum’ (Barcelona) and ‘Encordass Fest’. They are now working on their first album with producer Zalo Rodríguez.

Rachel Gaughan is a Scottish singer-songwriter. Growing up in a musical family and inspired by the folk music around her Glasgow upbringing and Irish roots, she learned instruments to accompany her own vocals. After spending time living and learning music in England and Switzerland, playing with groups and solo at open mics, Burns Suppers, in London’s Cecil Sharp House and at Geneva’s Fête de la Musique, she has recently returned to Scotland and become focussed on developing her own songwriting, drawing on these influences and her own experiences. In January 2025 she played a support slot at Edinburgh Folk Club.
