DKOS Artists 23rd January 2026:-Boye’ Henry – from Glasgow but with African Roots – Tayna Ward. Australian Roots living in Argyll – Douglas Sleigh from Arbroath – The Back Green Singers based in Glasgow – The Songstalers based around Glasgow……

Boye’ Henry – Is a guitarist and singer-songwriter based in Glasgow, UK, with African roots that run deep through every note he plays. His live performances are known for their emotional depth, crowd connection, and undeniable groove.
Whether performing solo or backed by a full band, Boye’ brings a quiet intensity that fills any room. His sound draws from a mix of Jazz, Soul, Blues, Pop, Funk and contemporary influences — think John Batiste meets Gregory Porter with a raw, travel-worn edge.
TANYA WARD
Tanya Ward is a British/Australian singer, banjo player and composer whose influences include roots, blues, folk and jazz. Her musical journey began when she was gifted a ukulele by her uncle, a Tasmanian fisherman, who discovered it on an abandoned yacht that was adrift in the Southern Ocean. She taught herself to play and began writing songs, performing both in Australia and the UK. She later progressed to the banjo, adopting the clawhammer style of playing that was favoured by the original exponents of the instrument.
Her debut album Feathers & Bones, recorded and mastered by Joe Fossard and featuring Strang, was released in May 2025 and featured on BBC Introducing where she was featured as Artist of the Wee
DOUGLAS SLEIGH
Douglas Sleigh is a Scottish folk singer-songwriter whose music is rooted in storytelling, place, and quiet honesty. After six years spent writing songs in his bedroom, Douglas has begun sharing his work with live audiences, blending traditional folk influences with modern, reflective songwriting.
The roots of his musical journey trace back to a late-night folk session in the Carbost Inn on the Isle of Skye, where, as a wee boy, the power of shared songs, voices, and tradition first sparked his desire to write and perform. Inspired by moments like these, and by the landscapes of Scotland, Douglas’s songs explore themes of belonging, friendship, and home, delivered with warmth and understated intimacy.
THE BACK STREET SINGERS
The Back Green Singers are a 5 piece acoustic band brought together by a love of Bluegrass music. From Glasgow and surrounding areas they harness the spirit of the local musicians that would play in the tenement back yards or “greens” of Glasgow to entertain and earn a few pennies.
Although they play alot of Bluegrass covers they also put a Bluegrass style to popular music and also write their own future classics
THE SONG STEALERS
‘The Song Stealers’ is a collaboration born out of The Nova Scotia Folk Club in Glasgow. We all have a strong background in solo performance but have found ourselves drawn together by a mutual love of vocal harmonies and sad, sad songs. Covering various genres including folk, trad, americana soft rock & pop and even the odd country tune, if we hear it and love it, we’ll shamelessly ‘steal’ it. We are: John Thomson, guitar, vocals and songwriting, Celia Somers, vocals and percussion, Caroline Kerr, vocals and percussion and David Thomson, Cajon.
Please remember the DKOS hosted at Celtic Connections is held in the Exhibition Hall at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall is still free but is now ticketed>
