the Rowies are a young traditional folk band formed of you teenagers between ages of 15 and 17 and are based in the North-East of Scotland
They formed in September of 2016 and have been supporting bands such as Session A9, Old Bling Dogs and Nordic Fiddlers Bloc. In July the won Speyfest’s Young Entertainer of the Year 2017

“Their ace combination of rock swagger, blues groove, and the rough and tumble of Americana is one few Scottish bands can match.” The Music Brewery . Since their inception in June ’14 and the release of their debut EP, ‘6:45 & 450 Down’ at the beginning of 2015, the band has played numerous venues and festivals throughout Scotland including Glasgow’s ABC, King Tuts; the Belladrum festival in Inverness and the enchanting Eden festival. The miles travelled and the countless hours of stage time has helped shape a sound that takes many twists and turns during their live set. It’s a journey of sound that they hope to capture and recreate with their debut album due for release this year

They bring to the stage an emotive musicality that goes beyond an ordinary performance. The well-constructed melodies and songs of stories allow each song and performance to relate to and involve the listener and audience. BBC Radio One, Radio Scotland (Roddy Hart, Tom Morton and Iain Anderson’s shows), Mike Harding’s Folk Show and pioneering Scottish DJ Jim Gellatly are all champions of the band having play-listed and reviewed previous releases. The Ters’ have raised people’s awareness and expectations of how Folk-Music continues to advance with the times. The band enjoy their time on stage and they look to bring everyone along on the journey with them. They have shared stages with lauded Scottish singer/songwriter Dougie Maclean and The Staves and have appeared at Celtic Connections, Perthshire Amber, Bannockburn Live 2014, Edinburgh’s St Andrew’s Day 2013 and numerous times at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Since 2011 the band have released 2 albums, a single and 2 EP’s including the critically acclaimed 4 song EP, “Table In The Corner”, which was released worldwide in November 2015
Calum McIlroy & Kristina Leesik – Listen Again Archive Site 
Kristina Leesik and Calum McIlroy formed their fiddle and guitar duo in October 2017 while both studying on the BMus Traditional Music Course at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow. Kristina, an exchange student from the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, Sweden, and Calum, a second year guitar student on the course at RCS, set out to create a collection of arrangements weaving together the traditions of Scotland and Sweden. Armed with a selection of tunes and songs, they plan to make a studio recording and organise some performances in January, before Kristina returns to Stockholm.
Gordon Kennedy – Listen Again Archive Site
Gordon Kennedy is a poet, composer & singer from Glasgow, Scotland. He comes from a background of electronic music, being one half of electronic / experimental duo The Cray Twins. His recent work has involved environmental recordings, which he uses to make instruments from the sounds of the landscape: from the wind and the waves, from traffic and machinery, from birds’ wings and human voices. This is now merging increasingly with his engagement in the British folk tradition: the music of the land, using instruments made of the landscape. Old and new music using old, new instruments. Breath, voice and then everything.
