The Domestics – East Lothian Listen Again
An alt-country band Showcasing the songwriting talents of Derek & Stella Birrell, the Doestics play ‘domesticated’ . About their original material Stella says, “Given that I’m now well over 20, I find a lot of contemporary music isn’t written for people like me that don’t go clubbing every weekend or have first time innocent love affairs. I like to write songs about my own experiences. Hence a lot of references to housework, kids, and love being present but often hidden at the bottom of a laundry basket. It’s not just that old chestnut about ‘write what yo know’
