Susie B – London –  Listen Again  30th Susie B

Singer songwriter, artist , from London  Has self released 2 EP’s. Recently took part in the International Song Collaboration with Basement Jaxx. She gigs extensively and at festivals. Works part time for Help The Musicians UK.

 

 

30th Ostered to the BothyOxtered to Bothy – Glasgow  – Listen Again 
listener, to engage in something different and fresh. All our tunes are original and composed Are a fusion group based in Glasgow and each of us study at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.  The group consists of melodic instruments working alongside the groove formed by a solid rhythm band. “Oxtered to the Bothy”‘s ambition is to create a new sound for folk music, allowing features from other genres to shape the overall creation, by experimenting through new combinations of folk and traditional music mixed with elements and features of jazz, funk, rock and Balkan
Harry Gorski-Brown – Fiddle/ Benedict Morris – fiddle/ Kenneth Dunlop- accordion/ Joel Persson Haag – piano/ Calllum Cronin – bass/ Ruaridh Neil – drums

 Speldosa – Glasgow   – Listen Again 30th Speldosa
A contemporary folk trio performin a wide variety of traditional music from around the world as well as self penned material/ ‘Speldosa’ is Swedish for ‘music box’ and the band are known for their enchanting ‘twinkly’ waltzes’ and rousing femist songs. 2014 saw the trio become New Roots finalists . As well as giging localy ther have been doing the festival rounds !
Emma Durkan- clarsach-fiddle / Rosie Calvert – Hammer Dulcimer / Nicola Beazley – fiddle.

 

30th Linzi ClarkLinzi Clark – Paisley – Listen Again 
Is an unsigned singer songwriter from Paisley. Genre-Folk/Pop Influences- Regina Spektor, Bat for Lashes, Marika Hackman, Radiohead. First E.P released at the end of last year Achievements- won a competition through UWS ( while studying ‘Commercial Music) which enabled her to play a series of gigs in Toronto during NXNE Festival. Live performance review- ‘Linzi had a stunning way of creating such a haunting atmosphere with her voice and over all implements a strong distinction to other female vocalists on the circuit today. I can only envisage good things for Linzi Clark’s future endeavors, it was a pleasure to have her grace us with her wonderful opening set and we look forward to embracing her music in the future.’ Miff Morris, journalist at ‘New Hellfir Club Glasgow’.

Bella and The Bear – Glasgow  – Listen Again 30th Bella and The Bear
Bella and the Bear craft fairy tales through a fusion of folk storytelling and elements of spoken word. Percussive and rhythmic guitar, intricate harmonies and compelling lyrics combine to create a captivating sound that can hold an audience silent. In their first year together, the band have won Best Newcomer at the Scottish Alternative Music Awards, have been named Best New Act by Calmac Culture, played across the country, released two EPs and produced their own short film. Their live show is continuing to develop and span across different art forms as they bring their music to life through animation and visual art. Stuart Ramage & Lauren Gilmour
