Dundee’s newest bluegrass group have already carved out a well-deserved place in the Scottish music scene, creating a bit of anarchy while pushing the boundaries of the bluegrass genre with blistering renditions of old favourites, plus their own cross genre material.

Jennifer Ewan Band – Edinburgh – Listen Again
The trio blend modern Scottish folk/pop with Zydeco accordion and blues guitar, performing the songs of Jennifer Ewan as well as bringing their unique style to some traditional blues and Cajun classics. Formed at the beginning of August last year they have already played for ‘BBC at the Edinburgh Festival’ at the Edinburgh Fringe and will be featured on Brazilian TV show ‘Traveller’ to be shown on the GNT network in March 2016 and then in 140 countries worldwide.

Our trio is called ‘Le Chéile’, which comprises of following members: Awen Blandford,
Emma Masterson and Steaph Chaimbeul (from Wales, Ireland and Scotland, but currently
all studying in Manchester). Along with the application form are 3 demo recordings.

Singing mostly unaccompanied, she interweaves stories and songs from around the world with a complex simplicity, providing the audience with a guided tour of the universe with her powerful voice. A heart-warming performer with a magical voice. Prepare to be blown away, brought to tears, shout with laughter, and leave with thoughts and hopes of a better world.
