The Step Brothers – John Neil-Rice and Nicky Ferguson. Listen Again
Their smooth acoustic sound with heartwarming melodies and vocal harmonies pays homage to the likes of Simon and Garfunkel and The Everly Brothers. Their Scottish heritage shines through in their music incorporating many of the traditional qualities they have grown up with. It is real homegrown music from the soul of two young men with an immense love and appreciation for the art of song-writing. They supported The Sisterhood at Oran Mor 2016
The Ambers – Jim Holland & Adam Smith Listen Again
The Ambers are Jim Holland and Martin Smith. Martin and Jim played in a band together in the early 80s but went their separate ways when the band broke up. A chance meeting at a wedding some 30 years later and they decided to form an acoustic duo focusing on their songwriting. The Ambers have recently released their first EP ‘Ashes in the Sand’ on iTunes, Spotify and Amazon & YouTube
Martin Jones – Greenock Listen Again
Martin is a singer songwriter who took to the guitar at an early age and one of the last young artists to be mentored and encouraged by Danny himself. Martin studied for a time in Spain and has honed his songwriting and music to celebrate among other things his home town ‘sugertown’ / Greenock and is much in demand at local events also at festivals far and wide and of course on the DKOS.
Deni Smith – Fife/ Glasgow Listen Again
After gigging relentlessly around the kingdom of Fife, Deni steps into the studio and takes time to hone in on her recorded sound before making a move to Glasgow to further her music career. Deni celebrated the release of her debut single “Bring Back the Sun” with a sold out Single Launch party in her hometown of Dunfermline on the 14th of August. As well as giging at Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival, performing on the Free Range Folk Stage.
In November, Deni toured with Scottish Music Centre alumi Hit the Road where she headlined her hometown, Dunfermline’s PJ Molloys.
Eriska –Glasgow Listen Again

Gavin Paterson – Drums
Eriska are a six-piece Glasgow-based folk band established in 2016. The band’s lineup includes members from the traditional music, jazz and classical courses at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. The members draw upon their disparate backgrounds and combine rock, jazz and folk styles to create a unique sound using both traditional tunes and band members’ original compositions. With musicians from Argentina, Italy and the USA as well as Scotland, they blend many musical traditions together to make a fresh kind of Scottish music. Having played at festivals including Celtic Connections, Boston Celtic Music Festival, the National Fete de la Musique and Piping Live, the individual members bring together plenty of performing experience and energy.
