Today sees the first day Danny Kyle Open Stage 2014 which celebrates it’s 15 year anniversary this year!

We bring back  to showcase five of last years finalists – who have  since then all had a very busy year.

In Adelaide’s, 209 Bath Street , Glasgow from 4.00-6.00pm.

This is a FREE event and you do not need tickets (only for the final Saturday 1 February 2014)


Gria –  From Glasgow

Hailing from Shetland, Orkney, Lewis & Northumberland this recently formed band have a cultural mind combining Gaelic and Scots and English  traditions.
Gemma Telfer/Lana Eiaine Thomson/Louise Bicham / Ceitlin L.R. Smith.

Graham Low and Jack Kirkpatrick
These accomplished young musicians from Orkney wowed everyone on the Open Stage at the Orkney Folk Festival. Graham also takes part in ‘The Gathering’.  They come down from Orkney to play for you today.

Taylor & Leigh – From Edinburgh

A blend of Nu-Folk-Country Blues  and blisteringly hot play across the length and breadth of the UK, their music has also been used to promote Ken Loch’s film ‘Aye Fond Kiss’.

Genesee
Beldina Odenyo singer songwriter, originally from Kenya now resident in Glasgow goes under the name of Genesse and brings her culture and travels to us in her poems and songs.

Next concert: 2 February – St Andrew’s in the Square – with The Milk Carton Kids & Gavin James

 

 


Elliot Morris
The 23 year-old singer-songwriter from Lincolnshire  began playing electric guitar when he was 11, but launched his solo set at 17, just a year after starting to explore the possibilities of the acoustic instrument! Played at many English Festivals in 2012.
